Summary:
I made a music video for the artist money mark with three other guys and a bunch of help.
01 - Production Notes
Throughout the project, each of us played to our strengths, dividing the workload up as evenly as possible. After the team had settled on a concept and drew out the storyboards, I mainly focused on pre-production planning, robot costume construction, directing, editing, and robot face animations.
02 - Robot design
Steve and I spent a lot of time working through different designs for the robot's face. Some were too scary, some were too cute. We wanted to try and find a face that wasn't overly designed or distracting, but still had enough graphic flexibility to emote the different expressions we needed throughout the video.
03 - Storyboards
Steve drew out our fantastic storyboards based on the team’s discussions and ideas.
04 - robot construction
Steve and myself built most of the body pieces out of specialized foam then hit it with some spray paint. The helmet was laser cut and assembled out of pieces of acrylic by Paul Saskas, then we took over to apply the finishing touches.
