01 - Background

For Sphero’s line of robot products, the team had seen a lot of success making unboxing videos to help users get up and running. So when Sphero partnered with Star Wars/Disney to make an app-controlled BB-8 droid toy, the team knew a video resource would be a great tool to help customers learn about their bot.

Create an unboxing product video for the Star Wars BB-8 robot, explaining how to get the bot up and running along and how to use its coolest features.

02 - The idea

BB-8 was such a magical product, I didn’t want to lose it’s cuteness with a boring how-to video. So I tried to find creative ways to show off its features while still keeping the overall vibe fun and light-hearted.

03 - Results

The video became a very helpful visual resource for Sphero’s QA and Social Media teams to point to when customers reached out with basic questions.
