A video to introduce potential customers to some of the coolest features of Sphero’s star wars bb-8 robot.

01 - Background

For Sphero’s line of robot products, the team had seen a lot of success making unboxing videos to help users get up and running. So when Sphero partnered with Star Wars/Disney to make an app-controlled BB-8 droid toy, the team knew a video resource would be a great tool to help customers learn about their bot.

Goal: Create an unboxing product video for the Star Wars BB-8 robot, explaining how to get the bot up and running along with introducing its coolest features.

02 - The idea and Results

BB-8 was such a magical product, I didn’t want to lose it’s cuteness with a boring how-to video. So I tried to find creative ways to show off its features while still keeping the overall vibe fun and light-hearted.

The video became a great visual resource for Sphero’s QA and Social Media teams to reference when customers reached out with questions.
