Summary:

I made a video for the marketing team that introduces SPhero’s SPRK robot and app, its educational initiative that teaches kids how to code.

01 - background

Sphero was launching the SPRK (Students Parents Robots Kids) Edition app-controlled robot ball, centered around educational activities and teaching kids how to code through basic programming tasks.

The Marketing and Sales teams needed a video resource that could both introduce the product in a fun way, while still being informative enough to use during national STEM events and conferences.

02 - THE idea

With my concept, I wanted to try and capture some of the magic that happens when kids are both learning and having fun, which is what SPRK is all about. I wrote out the script, filmed it on my 5D, and worked closely with our in-house Cinema 4D wizard, David Saucedo, on the motion graphics.

03 - REsults

The video was a Youtube hit and became the team’s go-to marketing tool for prospective clients such as teachers and STEM education vendors, ultimately helping Sphero grow its SPRK program and business.

04 - intro to macrolab

To accompany the SPRK video, I also wrote and filmed a secondary resource that dove deeper into Sphero’s MacroLab, the application used to program tasks for the SPRK robot. For this video, we enlisted the help of a local teacher who was using the robot in his classrooms to cover some of MacroLab’s best features.
